A. The Internet can potentially offer many benefits including:
an effective means to showcase your talents
a cheap and efficient means to distribute your songs,
an efficient way to contact and collaborate with other songwriters
a huge resource of information eg artists looking for songs, how to... etc, sell CDs.
With a little imagination, there are many ways that the Internet will be useful to you. The question is really what do you need as a songwriter.
Q. I need people in the music business to know that I exist, that I am a talented songwriter and that I have great songs that major artists should cover. How can a website help?
A. What you are talking about is really marketing. A website is perhaps the most efficient form of advertising for any business including songwriting.
