BBC Electric Proms Live Life Digital Photography Competition Winner Announced
The BBC today announced the winner of the Live/Life digital photography competition presented by BBC Electric Proms in association with 125 Magazine.
Live/Life was created to give wannabe photographers with aspirations to become the next Mick Rock or Pennie Smith the chance to win a VIP pass to photograph the BBC Electric Proms festival this October.
Budding snappers were invited to submit their favourite photo that shows a visual representation of the theme Live/Life, and entries could be shot on digital cameras or even mobile phones. Over 800 entries were received in total and submissions were judged by the BBC Electric Proms team and 125 Magazine, publishers of work by new photographers worldwide.
The winner, Emma Campbell, is a 27-year-old, freelance picture researcher from South London, who indulges her passion for photography in her spare time. Emma's winning entry was taken at Bestival this summer and features a reveller with eyes his closed, lost in music.
Emma said, "I can't believe I have won the competition. It's so satisfying after two years trying build up a decent body of work. It really feels like all my previous effort is beginning to pay off and all those late nights and back pains were worth it!"
