Crimea X - Phoros EP
Hailing from the far flung cosmos of Reggio Emilia, Italy's coolest post rock, cosmic disco outfit, Crimea X launch a stellar EP of musical gems titled, Phoros, out on Hell Yeah this Summer. Get ready for pure, spaced out Balearic bliss as the Italo duo take you on a round trip journey to the electro cosmos and back.
Crimea X is the coming together of two offbeat, disparate characters, DJ Rocca (Ajello, Super Sonic Lovers, Maffia Sound System) and Jukka Reverberi from 90's Italian glam cult rockers, Giardini di Mirò, who have often have been compared with the sound of Mogwai, Arab Strap, Godspeed You! Black Emperor
DJ Rocca and Jukka were brought together by the common passion for cosmic imaginary soundscapes, where Kraut rock fuses with the predilection for Marxist thought and political stories of the last century. The end product is a tantalising myriad of musical styles and tongue in cheek ethos, satirising the socio-political climate of our modern era. And their live shows absolutely kick ass!
'Phoros' packs in six quality tracks designed for the thrift thinking music fan in these cash strapped times. The EP includes remixes by Austrian minimal wunderkind, Florian Meindl, who gives the track 10PM an intelligent excursion in techno artistry, definitely one for the Sunday morning after parties. Hotly tipped Italian deep house duo, Enzo Elia and Martin Pantino, provide a warmer touch to 10PM. Throw in an extra bonus track, A Year Later and we're all in business.

I Like Music because...
Tim Westwood: I Like Music because… but especially rap music because… it's the most powerful music in the world. It's certainly influenced my life, it's defined my life and who I am. It's all about sending out a powerful message. Rap music has a whole culture and lifestyle with it. It talks directly to you and I think it's just incredibly powerful music and an important voice to the community.
Danny, Son Of Dork: I Like Music because… it's a good method of personal expression.

Evie: I Like Music because... it's a jungle of imagination you don't mind getting lost in.
Neil Barnes, Leftfield: I Like Music because...I couldn't listen to anything else.
Grandmaster Flash: I Like Music because… It brings out the child in me. That's why I love producing, DJing and remixing. When I go on the stage I turn into this great big kid. I have my fans in front of me and I just play. I don't think about what I'm playing. I just play what I need to play and get the audience to come with me on this musical journey.
Gareth Gates: I Like Music because… it's been my form of expression. In the past, when I haven't been able to speak, it's been my way of getting out of me what's in me.
