ILM: Do you have a favourite track that you have produced?
Deadmau5: Yeah, it's unreleased. It's called 'My Opinion'. It's my all time favourite piece of work. Its IDM. It's so whack. It's un-playable. It's almost un-marketable unless your name was Richard D. James (Aphex Twin). That one is my favourite.
ILM: Can we hear that one anywhere?
Deadmau5: I think at www.deadmau5.com IDM is kind of the genre I'd like to do. I don't have to worry about downs and build ups and where the crowd is supposed to go nuts. I can pretty much have my whole artistic freedom and do what I feel like cos it's like an excercise to keep myself from going crazy with all the repetitive beats.
ILM: Will you release different stuff? Away from the electro-house thing?
Deadmau5: Actually me and Steve were talking about this earlier. We may in the future start developing some more music for music lovers and not so much music for the dance floor. A lot of dance and techno doesn't allow you to flex that creative muscle you know?
ILM: Miami WMC, your playing out there right?
Deadmau5: Yeah, it's gunna be one of those "Let's show up and see what happens kind of things." you know? haha!
