Defected Records Podcast develops into a brand new show with Galaxy, the UK’s most listened to commercial brand for 15-34s

Galaxy Digital

Defected Records have joined forces with Galaxy, the national radio station that boasts over 2.6 million (Source: RAJAR Q4 2006) listeners for a new DAB digital show launching 23:00-00:00 on February 23rd.

With Galaxy currently the most listened to commercial radio brand by 15-34s in the UK and Defected notching up various Top 20 successes with Bob Sinclair and Junior Jack the show is a natural step for both brands that are aware of their combined potential to build upon their audiences.

Bringing the world respected Defected label to Galaxy radio underlines our commitment to giving our listeners the cream of cutting edge dance music. Defected joins a strong list of specialist shows in 2007 making it another exciting year for the Galaxy brand - Mike Cass (Galaxy Programme Director)

"Galaxy has grown with a market of dance music lovers where other commercial radio station seemed to have missed. Our objective is to promote quality house music touching on its roots in soul, funk and disco, it's about presenting new music and artists to a receptive audience who will find out what is happening on the global dance floor before anyone else." Tony Garvey (Head of Radio Promotions Defected Records)

As the number one dance independent label, Defected has both captivated and inspired the respect of audiences around the world. It has become synonymous with quality house music of every kind and is often used as a way of describing a particular style of house as 'Defected style house'. The idea of the show is to highlight credible club and underground tracks as well as being a breeding ground for future dance hits.

Regular features will include:

• 'Front 2 Back' -listeners are given a heads up to a Future House Classic from the 'Front' of the stack followed by a true House classic from the 'Back' of the stack.
• Deep, Down and Discofied - go back to the roots of Dance music selecting 1 inspirational Disco, Funk or Soul track (usually something that has been sampled by today's dance producers)
• A 4 track DJ Mini Mix (either mixed by the presenter or a guest mix)
• Final Cut' - Rounding the hour off with the. An big 'end of the night' tune or something that has earned the title of an 'Anthem'
