Merka - Back Home

Merka exploded onto the scene with his debut Beserka in 2007 & followed up this success in early 2008 by dropping In Heavy Weather, released under his Hip Hop alter-ego Mystic Man.

'One of the most interesting and captivating albums the scene has ever produced...' (Beserka - Album Of The Month iDJ)

In the lead up to his second album - Make & Do (available from Nov 2008) Merka presents the single - Back Home. With his crate-digging, mish-mash style still present and correct, this self-appointed 'Professor of Genre Hopping' has chosen the lush, melody-rich sound of soulful house as his subject matter.

Back Home is an exercise in pure ear-catching, rolling, melodic goodness that will be in your head for weeks!

In true Fat! tradition we have compiled a heady set of remixes that showcase the talents of 3 fast-emerging artists representing the House, Electro & Bassline scenes.

Chewy Chocolate Cookies (previous remixes for Southern Fried & Kitsune) have dished up an earlobe-ripping rendition that is not for the faint-hearted. A de-tuned, dirtied-up, siren-filled Electro ripper.

Urchins, part of the Lincoln house mafia, (previous releases on PottyMouth & Palms Out Sounds) have taken the mix into jackin house territory, with wobbly basslines abound.

London bassline crew - Pirate Soundsystem (previous remixes on Mad Decent, Trouble & Bass and Atlantic) provide a 4 to the floor take in their own jump-up style.
