London 25.09.06 - International record label Ministry of Sound today announced the launch of its own online record store Ministry of Sound Download. Aimed at clubbers and dance music fans, whilst also providing a focus for specialist DJs www.ministryofsound.com/download will go live on October 3rd and aims to offer a one stop shop for the best music in the world.

The store will launch with over 60,000 tracks from over 2,000 record labels spanning all genres of dance music, alongside providing music fans with easy access to Ministry of Sound's extensive catalogue (including chart hits from the likes of Eric Prydz, Beatfreakz and Supermode).

The site will allow users to search for records by artist or track name, but those less familiar with genres will also be able to track down their favourite songs through the exclusive 'Channels' linked to key compilation series, including Hed Kandi, Clubbers Guide, Sessions, The Chillout Sessions, Euphoria and Housexy. The aim is to help music fans to find tracks and discover great new music.

"As well as attracting the music fans and clubbers, we believe Ministry of Sound Download will appeal to those people who have simply heard a great record on a Friday night and are desperate to get their hands on it," explains Adam Taylor, Head of Digital at Ministry of Sound.

The store also features 'All Time Classics', 'New Releases' and 'Top Albums', as well as giving users the chance to get their hands on the hottest, upfront releases in the 'Inside Edge' section. "We wanted to provide the most comprehensive and exciting music around," Adam explains. "We'll be offering some of the biggest records for exclusive download and weeks upfront of their full release, for example Fedde Le Grande's massive 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit' will be available exclusively on Ministry of Sound Download six weeks before its retail release"

Ministry of Sound Download will also be drawing on the wealth of musical expertise at Ministry of Sound to give recommendations with each track and point users in the direction of other releases that they may like. There will also be recommendation charts from the biggest DJs around.

All downloads are high quality unrestricted MP3s, which work on any portable player including iPod's. "We've really focussed on the music and kept things easy to use, so that the process of discovering, playlisting and downloading records is simple, fast and enjoyable," Adam concludes.
