Ministry of Sound - ‘The Annual 2006’

Ministry of Sound

On Oct 31st, Ministry of Sound made dance music history with the latest installment of their legendary Annual series, warming away those winter blues with a red hot selection of the hottest house bangers. Incredibly, Ministry are looking set to sell their five millionth copy of the Annual- a testament to the continuing popularity of the genre-defining series, whose latest release signals a welcome return to their clubbing roots.

The Annual 2006 features 2 CDs crammed full of the year's most sought after underground gems, as well as the sort straight-off-the-decks-and-into-the-charts anthems that have made the Annual series such a phenomenal success. Without doubt one of the biggest tracks of Ibiza and Roger Sanchez's record of the year, the D.O.N.S 'Pump Up The Jam', rubs shoulders with the chunky bass line of Mandy's 'Body Language' and uber-cool New Yorker Armand van Helden's funk-laced anthem 'When the Lights go Down.'

The highly-anticipated 'Washing Machine' by Thomas Anderson, nestles alongside the honeyed-vocal and bassline carnage of Tom Novy's 'Your Body' and with X Press 2 contributing their stunning vocal anthem 'Give It', recorded alongside the legendary Kurt Wagner and Mylo adding his mad-scientist bootleg-turned-club hit 'Dr Beat', this album is an essential purchase for dance fans.

And if two CDs of explosive house weren't enough, the good folk at Ministry have selected twenty of the most sensational dance videos of the year, and brought them together on one DVD for your visual delectation. From the strip-poker antics of United Nations 'Out of Touch', to the casting-couch shenanigans of Max Graham's 'Owner of a Lonely Heart' (did those boys have the best job in the word?), this DVD is guaranteed to get the lads hot under the collar and the girls practicing their dance moves in front of the TV!

Ministry of Sound launched the first Annual way back in '95, featuring dance must-haves, including Livin' Joy "Dreamer", Bucketheads "Bomb" and the sensational "Hideaway" from De'Lacy. They sold over two hundred thousand copies of the compilation, and began one of the most successful runs in dance history. Since then 'The Annual' has gone on to amass sales of over four hundred and fifty thousand copies each year, bringing the total albums sold to just under 5 million. The Annual 2006 looks set to smash this figure in the coming months.

So if you want to reliving some of the biggest club tracks of the year or fancy giving your loved ones something more exciting than Rudolph socks in their stocking, don't forget to pick up a copy of The Annual 2006 by Ministry Of Sound.
