Lesley Wright, Editor of DJ Mag Chats To ilikemusic

DJ Mag is dedicated to providing its readers with up to date reviews, features and information about Dance music. Set up in 1991 the magazine has established itself as one of the leading print forces in the electronic music community, recieving the award for Best Music Publication at the International Dance Music Awards six years running. Aside from it's award winning content the magazine has become famous for its Top 100 DJ poll, asking fans to vote for their top five DJs each year and then collating the results in order in a special edition of the magazine. Last years winner was Armin van Buuren with Tiesto, John Digweed, Paul van Dyk and Sasha forming the top five respectively.

ilikemusic caught up with Lesley Wright, Editor of DJ Mag just before the Top 100 DJs 2008 were released to chat about the history of the poll, the development in the role of the modern DJ and why there is such a strong representation of trance music in the poll when dance music stretches through so many sub-genres.
