"I Like Music because… it is for everyone." METTE, THE ASTEROIDS GALAXY TOUR
"We started recording one year ago. We've been playing for seven months. This was our 12th gig ever."
I am honestly stunned as these words leave the mouth of Mette, the lovely front lady of The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. We are stood outside The Soho Revue Bar after the evenings performance. Mette goes on to divulge details of their recording process; 'We recorded the music in Copenhagen. Lars has a one room flat, sort of a home built studio and we recorded most of it there.'
I imagine the scenario. It would not surprise me if the walls of their studio were covered in colours, shapes, drapes and sparkles. The Asteroids Galaxy Tour are the missing link between retro pop, soul, and most of the commercial, over produced, formulaic melodies of today. With horns, jingles, jangles, quirky female vocals and a groove that makes you want to spin round in circles until you see stars, this band fuse together the stray seems of the decades with the pritt stick of modern pop.
