Editors Blog

Three months ago I started in my official position as Editor of ilikemusic. From the word go I have been keeping a daily blog of all my activities, music finds and inspirations. This is just a little heads up for that blog, which will be coming to the site very shortly.

From conducting many an exciting interview, including The Plump DJs, Morcheeba, Beardyman, Noah and The Whale and The Pussycat Dolls, to covering Glastonbury festival, watching Radiohead in Amsterdam and discovering more new music than I could even begin to compile in one sensible paragraph, I have had my hands and disc drive consistantly full. I have stayed up all night on many occasions, sometimes partying in a field but mostly writing features and making important editorial decisions (*cough*) You will be able to read about all of this in my lovely new blog, which has lots of nice pictures and titles made up of my favourite song lyrics :)

The blog will also act as your guide to what is up and coming with ilikemusic, and believe me, there is a lot...Our plans for the near future include a Stereo MCs site takeover, coverage of The Nationwide Mercury Music Awards, a very secret, exciting new feature and more music coverage from as many artists, bands and DJs as we can get our hands on!

Here at ilikemusic our editorial policy is that we don't slate artists. We don't care for gossip, tabloid rumours or whether our favourite musicians like to put mayonnaise or ketchup on their chips. We just care about their music, how they make it and why they like it. Be sure to check back soon and have a read of my blog. Hopefully it will give you an insight into what being the Editor for a cool, friendly, independent online music magazine is all about. Oooo - and don't hesitate to get in touch.

Blogs away!

It makes me laugh and it makes my cry and it gets me out of a stress if I’m in a stress, and, if I’m in a good place then it will make me in a better place.
