Elbow - One Day Like This

Elbow may have had a well documented hiatus in recent times but the band have emerged from those trying times stronger than ever. Current album, 'The Seldom Seen Kid', collected Album of the Week / Month awards too numerous to list and scored the band their highest ever first week chart placing.

Elbow are now the only artist ever to score four successive 9/10 album reviews in the pages of NME, a unique accolade that underlines the huge appeal of the band. First single, 'Grounds For Divorce' notched up their highest single sales and saw the band make a debut performance on 'Friday Night With Jonathan Ross'.

Now, the band release 'One Day Like This' from that album as a single. The climax of the set on Elbow's recent sold out UK tour, the song has been immediately taken to fan's hearts, starting mass sing-alongs from Glasgow to Brixton and has the feel of a summer festival anthem in waiting.

The summer sees Elbow play selected outdoor dates in the UK and Europe including a headline show in Cheshire's Delamere Forest on Saturday 14th June, Latitude on Saturday 19th July, and Scotland's Connect in August. In addition, Elbow headline the Royal Festival Hall as part of Massive Attack's Meltdown on Monday 16th June. More summer performances will be announced soon.

There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.
