Foals Announce New UK Live Dates
Storming into the UK album charts at number 3 with their debut album 'Antidotes', Foals have announced a new UK tour this September and October 2008.
The shows include many prestigious UK venues such as Brixton Academy and Manchester Academy. Having just released their critically acclaimed debut album 'Antidotes' in March, the band are currently on the European leg of their tour. They will go on to play shows in Japan, Australia and the USA in the first half of this year.
Like Radiohead before them, Foals are a hugely bright, young band with long careers ahead of them. These young men are ready to push boundaries, to keep evolving and keep creating music they believe in whilst remaining true to themselves, and 'Antidotes' is an album which will go down in history as a definition in the sound of new music in 2008, and beyond. It's no exaggeration to say they are the best new band in the UK.
2007 was a stratospheric year for the band. Social outcasts of their local Oxfordshire scene, Foals begun playing house parties to avoid criticisms and superiority of competing bands. From here, their popularity spawned and they soon found themselves playing clubs, gigs, show-stealing slots at all the major festivals, squats - anywhere with a soundsystem. The year culminated in a brief appearance on Channel 4's 'Skins', an appearance on BBC2's 'Later with Jools Holland' and a tour with Bloc Party.
