Sara Bareilles Chats To ilikemusic
After the release of her album Little Voice in 2007, Sara Bareilles is enjoying success world-wide due to the well known single Love Song. Back in 2003 she released two live session EP's The First One and The Summer Sessions. By 2004 she had released her first studio album named Careful Confessions, signed to Epic Records and then spent the next year writing the album that is still leading up the charts. The American has recently been on tour with The Counting Crows, played in Australia and is on her way to London - after which she heads back to America for her own headline tour. We caught up with her to discuss her love of musicals, live sets and Maroon 5 joining her on stage in their underwear.
"I Like Music because… it is pure expression. It is the best representation of what goes on inside our heads and our hearts." SARA BAREILLES
ILM: Your album came out last year and has done incredibly well. Can you describe the vibe of the album in your own words?
Sara: I guess I wanted it to be a sing along album - kind of light and a little bit playful. The whole focus was on trying to pick things that felt oragnic and then make it feel like a live album, not too over prodcued. I'm hoping it comes across like that.
