Africa Express
As part of the festival - which is dedicated to new moments in music - KOKO will host the return of Africa Express, which sees artists from Africa and the West perform together in unrehearsed collaborations. Previously, the group has staged shows at Brixton, Glastonbury and Liverpool, and taken Western artists to Mali and the Congo. Line-ups are never announced in advance, but earlier events have featured Franz Ferdinand, Baaba Maal, Reverend & The Makers, Damon Albarn, Amadou and Mariam, Hard-Fi and Tony Allen. The show will take place on Wednesday 22nd October.

Coldcut
The BBC Electric Proms will also be celebrating the legacy of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop at the FreeDM Studio on Saturday 25th October with an evening dedicated to the pioneers of UK electronica. Some very special guests will form a music panel to discuss the methods and legacy of the Workshop's creativity. This will be followed by electronic music pioneers in their own right, Coldcut performing a live DJ set incorporating samples and instruments from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

The show will be musically directed by Anne Dudley, the Oscar-winning composer, arranger and producer.
