Paolo Nutini and Owl City Top Charts

For the third time since June 2009, 23rd year old scotsman Paolo Nutini has topped the UK album chart with his second album Sunny Side Up. Since it's release the album has not been out of the Top 40, having now spent a total of twenty weeks within the top 10.

The album was followed by US soul sensation Alicia Keys, her album The Element of Freedom was up six places this week, charting at number two. Florence and The Machine fell two places, charting at number three with debut album Lungs. Andre Rieu came up two places to chart at number four, while Lady Gaga remained a non-mover at number five with her huge selling debut album The Fame.

Up sixteen places this week, Alvin and The Chipmunks charted at number six with their album of pop covers The Squeakquel.

New entries came from London based Hadouken! at 19 with their second album For The Masses. American rock n roll singer Del Shannon (1934-1990) came into the charts at 25 with The Very Best Of, Dolly Parton Live From London entered the chart at 33, while electronica experimental wonder Four Tet came into the UK album chart at 35 with his latest record There Is Love In You.

US sensation Adam Young, aka Owl City, remained at the top of the UK singles chart this week with his huge selling single Fireflies. This was followed by the Glee Cast with their cover of Journey's Don't Stop Believin' at number two. Iyaz was down one place this week, charting at three with his single Replay. 30H!3 and Sidney Samson were non movers this week with Starstrukk featuring Katy Perry at four and Riverside Let's Go featuring Wizard Sleeve at five.

New entries into the UK singles chart came from Timbaland who charted at 17 with If We Ever Meet Again featuring Katy Perry, Rihanna with her new single Rude Boy at 28 and Young Money, who entered the chart at 40 with Bedrock featuring Lloyd.
