Iron Maiden
2008 continues to be a very busy year for Iron Maiden. Due to phenomenal ticket demand the band return to North America in May and June for the second leg of their 'Somewhere Back In Time World Tour'.
International media have been fascinated by the breadth of the band's touring and means of travel on the plane Ed Force One, the unique customised Boeing 757, which contained band, crew and equipment and was piloted by vocalist Captain Bruce Dickinson. This resulted in news pieces and interviews running on virtually every national network from the international markets visited on the first leg of the tour, including Sky, CNN, Fox News, CTV, ABC and Globo Brazil.
It is estimated that by the end of the 2008 touring schedule, Iron Maiden will have played 67 shows in 31 countries around the World, to over one and a half million fans!
In an unprecedented move to let the younger fans hear, understand and appreciate the quality of the 14 classic 80's tracks from the album 'Somewhere Back In Time,' EMI Records launch the unique Somewhere Best In Sound promotion which allows them to listen to the entire album at high quality WMA, without charge, at their leisure three times before the download expires. The listener is then given a simple option to upgrade and purchase the album as a full traditional DRM-free download.

simon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact. There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.
Leon Jean-Marie: ilikemusic because... It transcends. It really creates emotion with someone. That feeling it gives you, it goes through boundaries. To create something, it just breaks through all the walls. When you connect with a song, that is it, that is magic isn't it?
Tom Baxter: ilikemusic because... It makes you feel alive more than anything else.
Master Gee: ilikemusic because... It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.
Jo Whiley: ilikemusic because... It makes me laugh and it makes my cry and it gets me out of a stress if I’m in a stress, and, if I’m in a good place then it will make me in a better place. It’s all about the emotion, it’s all about the feeling where music takes you to and what affect it has on you.
