Rise Against - Appeal To Reason - Tour Dates 2009
Chicago punk-rock champions Rise Against are back to their potent political best with their fifth album Appeal To Reason, released through Geffen Records.
A band renowned for their single-minded political outlook, Appeal To Reason is an embodiment of the band's feelings about the world around them. Nowhere is this more greatly channeled than on forthcoming single, Re-education (Through Labour) - a powerful statement against the use of sweat-shops in the modern world supported by a controversial, hard edged video.
The influences of Rise Against are plain to see; the snarling, scathing commentaries on the world are a return to the days of the anti-movement leaders Black Flag, with the unhinged, heavy rhythms plainly evident on Appeal To Reason reminiscent of Nirvana.
Never has the Rise Against message been more powerful - Appeal To Reason is their rock manifesto - a statement of intent and a powerful message to the world.

Rise Against - Appeal To Reason

Lee: ilikemusic because... It makes me want to rave my nut off
Scott, Thin Lizzy: ilikemusic because... It lets my adrenalin start pumping, it gets aggression out, and sometimes I can actually get emotional with it. There are many reasons why I like music.
Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
Newton Faulkner: ilikemusic because... I’m absolutely rubbish at everything else.
Darren: ilikemusic because... It makes me dance like a motherf**ker
Josh Ritter: ilikemusic because... It’s like an envelope that I can carry around with me wherever I go and I can unfold the letter at anytime.
Steff, Webmaster Musebr.com: ilikemusic because... the shows are very good, we make friends, we jump, and everybody scream so loud, and for a moment we forget all the problems of the world!
O'Bailey: ilikemusic because... I can live vicariously through a song, whether it's a screaming angry rock anthem or a silly kids song ("I'm a little yellow fish" anyone?) haha!
Kano: ilikemusic because... It brings people together. It makes people smile and dance, it makes people happy. I like the energy it gives off.
