Scorpions Tour With Support From Michael Scheneker
Germany's 'Heroes of Heavy Metal' have announced that Michael Schenker, younger brother of Scorpions guitarist Rudolf Schenker, will be supporting Scorpions on their tour of the UK this October.
Since he debuted at age 16, on the first Scorpions album Lonesome Crow in 1972 and throughout his career with UFO and The Michael Schenker Group, Michael Schenker's guitar playing has earnt him much attention and appreciation from music critics and the guitar community alike. On the back of releasing a new studio album In The Midst of Beauty in May of this year and a successful UK tour, Michael Schenker, who is widely acknowledged as one of the most respected and influential rock guitarists of his time, now returns to the UK to support Scorpions when they arrive to tour the UK in October.
With an impressive and hugely influential career that spans over 40 years, the Scorpions are undeniably near the top of the list of must-see hard rock bands. From the release of their remarkable debut album, Lonesome Crow, in 1972 to their exceptional Winds of Change, which became the worldwide top single of 1991, the unmistakable Scorpions style came from the combination of two electric guitars, a fusion of fabulously forceful power riffs with dazzlingly exuberant guitar solos. Added to which was the instantly recognisable voice of singer and front man Klaus Meine.
Since Rudolf Schenker, the band's rhythm guitarist, launched the band in 1965, they have sold over 75 million albums worldwide and were ranked #46 on VH1's Greatest Artists of Hard Rock program, proving beyond doubt that the electrifying heavy rock pioneered by the Scorpions is one of the most exciting and enduring genres around.

Sharleen Spiteri: ilikemusic because... it takes me to places that life can't
Jo Whiley: ilikemusic because... It makes me laugh and it makes my cry and it gets me out of a stress if I’m in a stress, and, if I’m in a good place then it will make me in a better place. It’s all about the emotion, it’s all about the feeling where music takes you to and what affect it has on you.
Sam, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly: ilikemusic because... Music is a special thing that is not like anything else in the world. You might argue that you can translate emotions through films and through books but anyone can make music, whether that be humming or singing along to the radio, it’s something that gives enjoyment and positivity to many people.
Kai, Mystery Jets: ilikemusic because... Music makes me smile.
Rasmus, Alphabeat: ilikemusic because... It makes me happy and it makes me dance around and sometimes it makes me a bit emotional. It encompasses all the emotions from happiness to sadness and it’s fun to play too.
KT Tunstall: ilikemusic because... It makes me feel alive!
Danny: ilikemusic because... It's my life
DJ Format: ilikemusic because... I was never going to make it as a footballer
Terry, The Temptations: ilikemusic because... There’s no way I could ever imagine a world without music.
