Morcheeba - Gained The World
Multi-million-selling darlings of down-tempo Morcheeba will release their new download single 'Gained The World' through Echo records in the UK on May 26th. This single is taken from their new album 'Dive Deep', which is out now.
Morcheeba's refusal to be categorised musically extends to the band's set-up, and in 2008, these pioneers of song-based dance music have become an eclectic and open-minded collective.
New single 'Gained The World' features the bittersweet vocal styling of Manda, a French singer who contacted the Godfreys via Myspace, admitting it was her dream to sing with Morcheeba. The song was written quickly in the studio and deals with the sense of succeeding in every way and still feeling like there is something missing; a paradox perfectly conveyed by the delicate longing of Manda's voice. The b-side 'Priceless' features a performance by Bootie Brown of Pharcyde fame and the distinctive voice of Merry Clayton on backing vocals, whilst Judie Tzuke takes the lead.
